Hello everyone, I am having a problem using Windows media player 11 that comes intergrated with Microsoft Windows Vista beta 2 Build 5384. Basically ..wmv files will not play in WMP11, mainly those downloaded from Microsoft's web site(ie. The WMV trainning videos for Microsoft Visual studio Express products). Each time i try to load one of these files, the player tries to check for an updated codec's and apears to get stuck in some sort of programming loop. Before i installed Vista, WMP11 worked fine playing every type of video that i had the codec for, but in Vista it just will not play anything. Whats weird is i dont have a problem playing video streams etc... just files that i have downloaded such as decribed above. Well I was just wondering if anybody else was having this problem or if anybody could point me to a possible solution.
System Vista beta 2 is installed on : Dell XPS 400 / Original hardware nothing added or removed

WMP11 Not playing WMV files
wmv files play on mine, but the problem is they are at 20 times the speed or something.. basically a 2 hour movie takes about 1 minute to play.. no sound.. just super fast. the option to slow it down in the setting options doesnt slow it down enough.. this one has me stuffed as every other file type works.. ive even installed and tried various codec packages..( not all at the same time)

Wooohooooo,
Problem Solved.
I had my suspicions that all my problems where being caused by my onboard sound chip.. so i decided to get a new one.. a basic audigy card. problem solved.. every thing works as it should now.
